Sora walked slowly towards the exit of the hospital where Axel was waiting for him.
<Why did I do that?>
The short but bittersweet kiss he planted on Roxas lips flashed back through his mind and he shuddered despite himself.
The redhead nodded at him then took Sora's hand in his own.
“Was he okay?”
The brunette gulped.
“Yeah... He's doing better now that he knows I'll be back...”
Blue eyes gazed back at the hospital as they walked towards Axel's car.
<I'll be back for you Roxas... I won't leave you here alone I promise...>
The redhead opened the door for Sora and closed it behind him.
Then climbed into the drivers seat and kissed him gently on the cheek.
“Look, I know everything feels awful right now and that nothing will ever be the same... You've been through hell... But things will eventually get better... And anything I can do for you in the meantime, even if it's something silly like driving to McDonalds at 4 am just because you feel like a Big Mac... Just let me know and I'll be more than happy to help. Okay? I'm here for you baby.”
Guilt slowly wormed it's way through Sora's stomach as the car's engine came to life and they started to drive back towards Axel's house.
Roxas lay in bed staring at the ceiling.
<He's back... Which is good... But I'll never be able to be the partner he wants... Which is awful... We'll be spotted everywhere because we're twins... No matter where we go everyone will know what's going on... Whats worse though is that our parents are gone forever... And we will never ever see them again...>
The blonde let the tears flow.
<It's my fault if I hadn't done this... They wouldn't be dead right now... Although if I'd suceeded we wouldn't be here either...>
Roxas contemplated this for a moment, breathless sobs escaped his throat as the full weight of responsibility placed itself firmly on his shoulders.
<Maybe... I should...>
Nurse Kairi walked into his room at that very moment with his medication for the night.
“Hey Roxas... How are you feeling?”
The blonde looked up, he had calmed down quite a bit in a short time which unnerved the young nurse...
“Shit... But better than before I guess...”
Something didn't feel right... His eyes were full of unspoken pain, but his exterior was clear and calm except for a few tears rolling down his cheeks.
“Are you sure you're feeing better?”
Roxas nodded slowly.
“Well... As better as one can feel in this situation I suppose.”
Kairi nodded.
“Of course...”
He took his sleeping pills, she smiled at him and fluffed his pillows but Kairi left his ward feeling concerned.
Demyx's hand lingered on Zexion's shoulder for a few seconds longer than it should have before he slowly pulled it away.
Zexion's heart was racing in his chest...
He swallowed hard trying to control his nerves, it was so loud he figured Demyx must have heard him gulp.
But the seemingly oblivious blonde just walked over to the sofa and sat down.
Zexion took a quiet breath and walked out into the kitchen to get two glasses.
<It's in your head Zexion... He's going through emotional trauma... He's not interested in you... He's just being nice because you're being nice...>
He walked back into the living room and placed the two glasses on the coffee table then took a bottle of red wine from a cabinet at the end of one of his bookshelves and after opening it placed it on the coffee table, he took a seat on one of the smaller sofas close enough to where Demyx was sitting but giving him enough space to spread out and relax if he wanted to.
“That should be ready to drink by the time the pizza arrives...”
The blonde looked at him oddly.
“Huh? We can't drink it now...?”
Zexion shrugged feeling awkward now that Demyx was staring at him with those sharp mesmerising yet inviting blue eyes again.
“We could... But red wine tastes better if left open for a few minutes before consuming it... Or at least that's what I've heard...”
Demyx cocked his head as though he was giving this some thought.
“I dunno... Doesn't make sense to me... But then again...”
He stroked his chin glancing off into space.
“I've never drank wine before so I guess I'll have to trust you...”
The blondes eyes came back to focus on Zexion again, the paramedic shuffled in his seat.
It wasn't that he was uncomfortable around this man...
But for some reason when this man's eyes were on him, he felt exposed in just a glance...
Zexion tried his best to avoid Demyx's gaze.
“W...”
Before the blonde could utter the word the doorbell rang and Zexion took full advantage by shooting up from his seat immediately.
The blonde stood up slowly offering money to Zexion who refused.
“Please, I would've cooked for you otherwise...”
The blonde shook his head.
“You've given me a bed, a place to collect my thoughts... And most of all... You've given me someone to talk to... At least let me get this...”
Zexion made eye contact with him for a moment his eyes were pleading and full of untold sadness before opening the door and letting Demyx pay for the pizza.
Sora flopped backwards onto the bed fully clothed and let his eyes fall closed.
Axel cocked his head at his boyfriend before pulling him by his ankles down to the edge of the bed and pulling his upper body up from the bed slowly peeled off his hoodie and t shirt.
“If you go to sleep with these on you'll be really uncomfortable...”
The brunette sighed sadly as Axel slowly removed his jeans.
Sora sat up suddenly and kissed the redhead hard on the lips only to have Axel pull back and look at him like he'd lost his mind.
“What the...?”
The brunette bit his lower lip.
“You said on the way back from the hospital you'd do anything that would help me right...?”
Axel nodded mechanically vaguely wondering where this was going.
Sora leaned forward slowly and kissed Axel softly on the lips.
“Then help me...”
The brunette stood up from the bed and started undoing the zip on Axel's jeans.
“Hold on... I'm not objecting at all, but can you explain to me... How this is helping...?”
Sora uttered.
“I want to get my mind off this even for a little while...”
A slight blush became visible on his cheeks as he added in a lower voice.
“And you know I sleep better when I... Of course if you're not in the mood I understand, it's been a long day...”
Axel tilted Sora's chin up gently before kissing him softly on his lips sending a pleasant shudder through the brunette's body.
“Axel...”
The redhead gently pushed Sora onto the bed, pulled off his own t shirt and kicked off his jeans. Climbing slowly up onto the bed he trailed kisses from just above the top of Sora's boxer shorts up to his neck gaining low but satisfying sounds from Sora's mouth.
Axel looked up at Sora.
“Shhh baby... We don't want to alert my parents right?”
Before grinning cheekily and grabbing Sora's now fully erect shaft roughly making him cry out in surprise.
“Sora... Shhhh... I'll have to stop if you're going to be so noisy...”
The brunette shook his head tortured by anticipation.
“Please don't tease me...”
Axel kissed his lover gently on the lips before working downwards...
By the time the redhead was near Sora's boxer shorts Sora could barely breathe with anticipation.
Cheeky as always Axel stopped and looked into Sora's eyes.
“I don't know if you want this bad enough...”
The brunette's face dropped.
“Please don't stop... I'll do anything... Just don't leave me like this...”
Pausing for a moment Axel started pulling down Sora's boxer shorts as slowly as he could muster.
The brunette's eyes fell closed as he began to grind his teeth together in sheer frustration.
“Please Axel...”
The redhead pulled off Sora's boxer shorts in a fast motion and closing his eyes started sucking his fingers slowly to tease Sora further.
“I swear to God Axel...”
The redhead continued to tease and play with Sora for a further ten minutes, finally the brunette had enough and slid down the bed.
Axel took a sharp breath inwards in sudden pleasure.
“Sora...”
The brunette repeatedly and painfully slowly licked Axel's cock from balls to tip.
Strangled sighs of pleasure were escaping the redheads lips.
“Ugh! That feels so... Ahhh!”
Smiling to himself Sora slowly licked his fingers and inserted one inside Axel.
Whispers were becoming harder to keep as whispers now that Sora was slowly working his finger in and out of Axel while pleasuring his cock with his lips and tongue.
“Please... Let me touch you...”
“No...”
The redhead was becoming desperate...
“If you keep this up... I'll be finished in no time... It's so...”
Axel began trembling with sheer pleasure, his breath quickened up as Sora worked his finger quicker in and out of him.
“Mmm... You taste good Axel...”
Axel bit his lower lip as he felt himself coming close to orgasm.
“Sora...!”
His fingers tightened on the bedsheets.
“I'm... Gonna...!”
The sensation suddenly died away and Sora stopped what he was doing.
“Sora...? Wha... Why?”
The brunette blinked a few times.
“Because I'm not done with you yet that's why...”
Axel was at Sora's mercy looking down into his blue eyes silently pleading with him not to leave him like this.
The brunette shoved Axel down onto his back and straddled him slowly grinding against his painfully hard erection.
The redhead shut his eyes in painful frustration reaching his hands up to touch Sora.
“Oh no you don't...”
Sora grabbed Axel's wrists and pinned them to the bed.
“I'm in charge now...”
The redhead struggled against Sora imploring him.
“Please let me touch you...”
“No...”
The brunette grinned to himself spotting a tie that was hanging over the nightstand and quickly grabbing it tied Axel's hands to the headboard, the redhead opened his eyes looking somewhat fearful.
“What are you gonna do to me?”
Sora slowly removed the redheads boxer shorts completely then licked Axel's stomach while grinning up at the redhead.
“Whatever. I. Want.”
Axel shivered with desire as Sora kissed his neck, deliberately letting his inner thigh rub against the redheads rock hard member gaining a tormented but approving sound from Axel.
“Sora... Please... I can't take this...”
The brunette touched two of his fingers to his lips seductively.
“You'll have to be more specific... I don't know what you're talking about... And unless you specify what you want... How am I supposed to comply?”
Axel's eyes were half lidded and his breathing was erratic.
“I want to fuck you...”
Sora smirked and opened the press on the bedside locker he took out condoms and lubricant.
The redhead was trembling in pure anticipation.
“Please Sora... Untie me... I have to touch you...”
Taking a condom from the packet Sora ripped open the foil wrapper as slowly as he could muster with his teeth.
Axel's mouth was becoming dry from breathing so fast he wanted Sora and he wanted him now.
The brunette much to Axel's surprise rolled the condom down his own erect member and started lubing up his fingers.
“Wait... What are you doing?”
Sora pushed two lubed up fingers together inside Axel's tight entrance making him grit his teeth.
“It hurts... Can we please start with one? I'm not used to this...”
To Axel's protests Sora acted like he was going to push one more inside.
Axel closed his eyes tightly expecting another finger to be inserted but instead Sora pulled one out and took Axel's throbbing cock in his mouth the sudden pleasure made Axel cry out louder than he'd intended.
“Ugh!”
The brunette looked at him with warning in his eyes and the redhead tried his best to be quiet.
“... sorry...”
He breathed in a lust filled whisper.
The redhead bit his lips as the sensations became more intense Sora could feel Axel's body tighten around his finger.
Sora took his mouth slowly away from Axel's cock causing the redhead to pull his head up from the pillows his face was flushed and his green eyes were half lidded in pleasure...
“Don't stop baby...”
Sora was having trouble controlling himself, it was the first time he'd seen Axel like this and he was loving every moment of it, so much in fact that he wanted him right now...
But if Axel wasn't used to being on bottom he knew he'd have to take his time, the brunette swallowed trying desperately to get some moisture back into his mouth.
“I'm gonna try and push a second finger in again okay?”
The redhead nodded worry evident on his face.
“Just try and relax...”
Axel tensed as the second digit was inserted then sighed a soft pleasure filled moan as Sora slowly worked his fingers in and out.
“Can... Can you go a little faster...?”
The brunette watched Axel as he sped up slightly the redhead bit into his lower lip trying to supress moans as his back arched up slightly off the bed.
“Sora... That feels... So good...”
Axel was gripping the tie that bound his hands trying to keep his voice as low as possible, Sora was officially at breaking point and while still pleasuring Axel lubed himself up, then pulling his fingers out slowly pushed himself inside Axel.
The redheads eyes squeezed shut as his body adjusted to the larger size of Sora's member.
“Are you okay?”
Axel nodded slowly not opening his eyes, it took all of Sora's self restraint not to fuck him as fast and as hard as he could.
Sora started moving very slowly in and out of Axel and in less than a minute the redhead was moving his hips to meet Sora's slow movements.
Axel opened his eyes to look into Sora's his flushed cheeks and half lidded gaze igniting intense desire in Sora's groin.
“You can speed up... If you want to...”
He trailed off the last word with a long pleasured sigh.
Sora didn't need to be asked twice, the brunette immediately sped up the pace moaning lightly with every thrust into his redheaded lover.
Axel's hands were gripping at the tie again as supressed moans escaped his mouth.
“Sora... Please... Untie... Me...”
The brunette pulled quickly out of Axel and untied his hands.
Axel sat up with his back against the headboard of the bed gasping for breath, Sora pulled Axel onto his lap and thrust hard inside him the redhead wrapped his arms around the brunettes neck as Sora's hands on his hips pulled him down harder and faster on his erect cock.
Gasps and sighs escaped Axel's lips as each thrust brought more intense pleasure his eyes closed as he gripped Sora's hair in his hands.
“I..!”
Sora's hand reached down to pleasure Axel but before the brunette even had a chance to start, Axel threw his head back his body started to violently tremble and with a loud moan he came over both of their stomachs.
“Ngh!”
Sora looked mildly shocked as he continued to thrust into his lover.
After the scene he just witnessed he knew he wasn't going to last much longer and with a final thrust came hard inside Axel with a low moan.
Axel's eyes were closed his cheeks were flushed red and his head was resting back against the headboard, his breath was coming in small fast gasps...
Sora wondered if he'd ever looked more appealing than he did right now.
The brunette slowly pulled out causing Axel to tremble and moan softly as he did so.
As Sora threw the condom away he wondered about what just happened...
He'd never seen anyone cum like that before...
Not that he had a lot of experience to judge from.
“How the hell did you do that...?”
The redhead opened his eyes slightly still slumped against the headboard.
“Huh...?”
“I didn't even touch you and you came!”
Axel still breathless smiled and shrugged.
“It's a first for me too... I guess you're just... Really good... Or it's beginners luck.”
The redhead slid down the bed into a laying down position his breathing laboured but slowly returning to normal.
“I can barely even move right now... I'm still shaking...”
Sora sat on the edge of the bed and cleaned the mess off Axel's stomach before tending to the mess on his own.
“Two things are for sure... One you have never looked hotter... And two when you came your parents definitely heard it...”
Axel made a face.
“Was I really that loud...?”
Sora nodded looking smug and satisfied with himself.
The redhead grinned blushing.
“Well in that case... I think I'll be on bottom more often...”
Sora crawled into Axel's arms and laid his head down on his chest while Axel pulled the bed covers over them both.
The redhead was still a little breathless.
“Are you feeling better?”
Sora nodded slowly feeling even more guilty about kissing Roxas.
“Good... I hate seeing you down.”
Axel kissed Sora lightly on the forehead and keeping him close fell asleep within minutes...
While Sora lay awake thinking about Roxas...
When Kairi was gone Roxas took the sleeping pills out of his mouth and put them with what limited movement he had inside his pillowcase.
Yes he had promised his brother that he wouldn't do anything stupid again...
But what about if the stupid thing to be done here was staying around to ruin his brothers life?
He couldn't do that to Sora...
<I'll save them up every night and make sure this time I have more than enough to do the job and then some...>
His decision was made, an odd sense of peace came with it and for the first time in a while he actually fell into a restful nights sleep.
Zexion brought the pizza inside and laid it on the coffee table, then poured them both out a glass of wine, Demyx sat down and opened his pizza box and started to eat.
They ate in an oddly comfortable silence...
They had known each other less than 24 hours but they had an understanding of sorts...
The dark haired paramedic glanced across the table as he bit into his first slice of pizza, blue eyes were staring straight back at him.
Quickly averting his eyes back to his pizza he felt his cheeks burn.
Yes he was confident in work...
He was confident in his ability, he could talk to people, calm down hysterical patients and family members and he knew it was what he was made for...
But the minute it came to outside matters he was cold and calculated...
Used people to his own whim...
Satisfaction if he was horny or lonely...
For some reason it wasn't the same with Demyx, he put himself out on the line for him...
Risked his job and his safety simply because he wasn't happy where he was...
Maybe he was just being too good at his job, maybe it was making him soft, maybe he was beginning to care...
Or maybe it was because everytime that the blonde looked at him he felt like Demyx could see right through his facade...
He took a mouthful of wine and chewed on a crust quietly wondering where this situation would lead...
And better yet, where Demyx would go once he felt okay again.
This thought filled him with a strange sense of loss and lonliness which he promptly pushed away with another swig of his wine.
Demyx eyed him up curiously and continued to eat, feeling like he should talk but unable to think of anything worthwhile to say.
So the silence continued...
Both feeling they should talk despite being quite comfortable with silence between them.
Zexion cleared his throat quietly and put the remote control on the table pushing it over towards him.
“You can turn on the tv if you like...”
Demyx nodded and picking up the remote felt his fingers brush off Zexion's.
The dark haired man felt Demyx's eyes upon him and immediately pulled back drinking the remaining contents of his wine glass and refilling it.
“I thought you said you weren't a big drinker...?”
Zexion shook his head seriously.
“I'm not...”
The blonde refilled his own glass and then turned on the tv, it was strange after so much silence to have a steady source of noise flowing through the room.
Demyx frowned at the tv before changing to a music channel and turning the volume down so that it was only background noise, the blonde turned to face Zexion.
“So tell me about you.”
Zexion looked up meekly from behind his sidefringe at Demyx.
“Uhm... Well... What do you want to know?”
The blonde shrugged.
“Hmmm... Well why did you become a paramedic?”
The dark haired man looked at the floor for a moment gently rubbing his forefinger of his left hand and the thumb of his right together.
“A few reasons... I have always had odd sleeping patterns, I wanted a job where I could help people and genuinely make a difference, and if I'm honest a job that could keep me in a comfortable state of living...”
Demyx nodded.
“So why did you become a truck driver?”
The blonde sighed.
“No family mainly... But I'm comfortable in my own company and the moneys pretty good too I guess...”
Demyx put down his pizza box and took another sip of wine.
“So... Do you do this often?”
Zexion raised an eyebrow and opened his eyes wider in curiosity.
“What?”
The blonde broke eye contact.
“Bring people from the hospital back here?”
Zexion narrowed his eyes.
<What's he trying to imply?>
Feeling insulted Zexion's defenses went on alert.
“No... You're the first person from the hospital I've been stupid enough to bring back here.”
He could tell by the look on Demyx's face that this hurt him.
Putting the wineglass down the blonde made to go to his bedroom, Zexion stood up and blocked him.
“That came out wrong... Completely wrong... I think I took you up wrong... Uhm... No I don't take people back here... You're the first person I've ever risked my job and personal safety for...”
Demyx looked down at Zexion and the dark haired man folded his arms avoiding eye contact feeling exposed.
The blonde tilted his head slightly to one side smiling slightly.
“And I appreciate it...”
Zexion dared to look up and Demyx's eyes were staring straight into his, the dark haired man quickly looked away, suddenly deciding to create some distance and sit down.
But the blonde grabbed his arm gently and surprised even himself with the question he asked.
“Why can't you look me in the eyes?”
The dark haired man froze.
“I...”
His mouth opened and shut several times but not a sound escaped, he would not admit weakness in front of him.
“I...”
The blonde slowly walked in front of Zexion and gently tilted his head up to look him in the eye but didn't make eye contact.
“It makes me feel like a monster that you can't even look at me... I know you barely know me... I guess thats why it's all the more unsettling... In light of whats happened I suppose it's appropriate... Why should you care huh? You barely know me.”
Demyx looked back over to Zexion to find him staring straight into his eyes.
<If you knew the real reason I can't look at you... You might feel a little different about looking at me...>
“Trust me... It's not like that at all...”
Demyx held his gaze for a moment then sat back down on the couch and took a sip of wine Zexion sat back down where he had been sitting previously.
Silence and light music filled the space between them.
“So... Do you always live here alone or do you have a room mate or girlfriend thats on holiday?”
Zexion took another mouthful of wine.
“I'm here alone...”
The blonde nodded.
“Sorry that was rude of me to ask that...”
The dark haired paramedic shrugged wine finally kicking into his system.
“It's cool I don't mind answering questions.”
Demyx looked at his glass.
“So what about the other part... Do you have a girlfriend?”
The dark haired man shook his head.
“No... Uhm... Do you?”
The blonde man shook his head.
“No... It's been a long time since I've been romantically attached... The job doesn't really give a hell of a lot of time for meeting people...”
Zexion looked up and grinned a tiny bit at this comment.
The blonde had a hint of a smile on his face when he realised the irony of this statement with their current situation.
“Well okay this being the exception to that.”
The dark haired paramedic went to fill their glasses only to find that the bottle was empty.
“Let me get another...”
Demyx shrugged, he was honestly enjoying this contact, perhaps it was the wine or maybe he was just beginning to trust Zexion but he didn't seem like such a bad guy anymore...
He brought the wine to the table opened it and poured Demyx out another glass before refilling his own.
“Cheers.”
He said flatly before nearly necking the whole glass in one gulp.
The blonde did the same.
“Cheers.”
Silence filled the space between them again and Demyx looked over at Zexion curiously.
“Don't you get lonely living in this big place all alone?”
Zexion was once again stupefied by such a personal question.
“I... Well...”
He swallowed.
The blonde shook his head.
“Sorry... That's just me being stupid again... Not much human interaction... It shows right?”
Zexion had honestly never thought about it before that very moment...
But now that he had...
“Yes...”
The blonde looked at him for a moment and smiled awkwardly.
“You're blunt aren't you?”
“Not that, I meant the previous question... I guess I'd never thought about it before but yeah... It... It really is lonely here...”
Zexion stared down into his wine glass.
<Who is really helping who here...? I've been here all along, alone most of the time... Then he comes here and suddenly...>
His thoughts were interrupted by a hand on his shoulder.
“Sorry man... I didn't mean to make you feel bad.”
Zexion looked up and shook his head.
“No... No... I'm fine seriously.”
Demyx reached up and wiped a tear on Zexion's cheek that he wasn't even aware was there.
He looked up slowly those blue eyes were looking into his soul and there was nothing he could do about it even if he wanted to.
His armour was cracked in less than twenty four hours by someone he had known about the same length of time.
“I want you to look at me.”
Zexion tried to look down, but Demyx's hand lingered and gently tilted his chin upwards.
Zexion's heart was thumping against his ribcage in anticipation of what was going to happen...
“I don't want to feel like a monster.”
The dark haired man lifted his head up meeting his gaze, and for a moment they just looked into each others eyes...
Two lonely souls reaching out for anything that would ease the sting of being alone for a while.
Their lips met in a slow kiss...
They parted only to breathe...
Their kisses became more passionate as Zexion found himself on his back on the couch, Demyx gently kissing his neck, treating him as though he might break.
“Demyx...”
He whispered as the blonde kissed from his neck down to his navel...
Clothes were removed gradually...
Every inch of their skin made tremble and tingle by the other before they were both laying down skin on glistening skin Demyx looking into Zexion's eyes.
“Are you sure you're...”
Zexion kissed him gently.
“Yes...”
Demyx inched inside very slowly...
“Is that okay...?”
The dark haired man's eyes were shut tightly as his teeth bit down on his lower lip.
“We don't have to...”
“But I want to...”
Zexion let out a small pained moan.
“I don't want to hurt you...”
“If you go slowly you won't...”
Demyx moved slowly against Zexion holding him as closely as he could.
Zexion wrapped his arms around Demyx's neck gently sighing as the initial discomfort turned into pleasure.
“Demyx...”
Zexion looked into his lovers blue eyes before letting his own fall closed and gripping his hands in Demyx's hair...
His face turned from a pleasured expression to one of pure ecstacy as he climaxed across their stomachs.
His breathing sped up and hitched, he barely made a sound, but his facial expression and how his back arched up from the couch as he hit orgasm said it all.
Demyx watched as his dark eyes opened again, he pulled Zexion as close to him as he could as he orgasmed deep inside him.
“Zexion...”
Both men were breathless as they embraced and enjoyed the blissful aftermath of their lovemaking.
Neither knew what would happen tomorrow...
But for tonight they were lovers and belonged to only each other...

Sora x Roxas 4 Agenda666 Chapter 8
Zexion stared blankly out through the windscreen of his car as raindrops started to fall on the glass.
Demyx was wiping his eyes frequently now little gasps were escaping his throat as he pulled the peak of his baseball cap low over his face.
The dark haired driver glanced over at Demyx but didn't say anything before he turned into an underground car park.
The blonde although distraught was clearly on guard.
Zexion seemed trustworthy on the surface...
But why would he offer him a total stranger his apartment, his space and his time...
If there wasn't an ulterior motive?
Zexion pulled into a parking space and opened his door then walked around and opened Demyx's door for him.
The blonde stayed in his seat for a moment wondering if this was actually an apartment complex or was Zexion trying to pull something funny on him.
The dark haired male shrugged and flipped a switch.
Light filled up the dark space revealing cars parked around the place...
Demyx took in the place and quickly got out of the car trying to hide his obvious suspicion of the paramedic.
The blonde closed the car door and Zexion hit a button to lock both doors.
“This way...”
Demyx followed obediently silently cursing himself over what a naive and stupidly dangerous decision this was.
The dark haired male pushed a button on the elevator and waited for it to open on their floor...
His eyes were tired dark brown circles were always present underneath them these days...
He loved his work but it took a lot out of him.
Zexion's life was a lonely existence, always on high emotions saving people and reuniting them with their loved ones...
Or telling their loved ones that they tried their best but their beloved family member didn't make it...
It wasn't an easy task...
But the satisfaction he got out of saving someones life and returning them to their family was worth the endless hours of work...
Plus it paid the bills...
The elevator door opened with a ding and Zexion got in, Demyx hesitated momentarily...
<Is this really a good idea Demyx...?>
His eyes connected with the dark eyes of the smaller male who gazed up at him from under his sidefringe.
Without another thought the blonde male stepped into the elevator and let the doors close sealing whatever fate he'd walked himself into.
Roxas held Sora tightly and cried into his shoulder.
“Mom and dad... Are...”
Sora nodded blinking away silent tears, he'd gone through so much pain and worry in the past twenty four hours his exhaustion was making his emotions become numb.
“I know...”
“If I hadn't... They'd still be...”
The brunette put his hand lightly over his brothers mouth and shook his head.
“Don't say that...”
“But Sora it's true...”
Roxas gasped for breath becoming hysterical, Sora simply embraced him tightly and held him there whispering.
“I'm just glad you're okay... I don't know what I would have done if... If...”
He swallowed hard exhaustion forgotten as a new wave of pain washed over him, he pulled away from Roxas looking him in the eyes.
“Did you even think about what losing you would've done to me...?”
Axel was sitting in the corner of the room silently, his heart winced at this comment...
<Am I imagining things or did that comment have a double meaning?>
Roxas looked into his brothers blue eyes.
“If I had of thought for a second that doing this would hurt you... I would have never ever attempted it. I swear it.”
The brunette looked into his brothers eyes tears forming in his own...
Sora sighed and turned away from him.
“I just don't know if I can trust you again...”
Roxas shook his head at his brothers back.
“Please Sora... Please...”
His teeth were grit trying desperately to hold himself together.
Roxas took a deep shuddering breath.
“Please don't leave me again...”
Sora kept his back turned on his brother and walked towards the door of his ward.
“Sora!? Please! Sora don't leave me!?”
Roxas was trembling with the fear of losing his brother again as the brunette left the room with Axel in tow.
“Sora...”
An unknown voice called him he turned wondering who here would know him.
The small brunette nurse he'd bumped into on the way in beckoned to him.
“If I could have a word with you for a moment...”
Axel went to follow Sora...
“Alone... If you wouldn't mind...”
The redhead let go of Sora's hand and kissed him on the forehead.
“I'll be in the cafeteria.”
He nodded solemnly and followed the young nurse into an empty ward.
She closed the door behind her and started talking immediately.
“Now I'm not supposed to discuss patients with even their families unless the doctor says differently but well...”
Sora stared at the ground.
“I dont know if I want to hear this... Understand I moved out and got away from my family Roxas included for good reason...”
The nurse looked into his eyes and silently implored him to listen.
“Please Sora... I beg you... Just listen to me for one minute and then if you still feel the same you can leave I'll say nothing more...”
The brunette looked at her.
“I don't understand why you would want to tell me anything... Like seriously how does this affect you?”
She sighed.
“I know... I shouldn't be getting involved emotionally with patients situations... But I couldn't help it in this situation... Sora ever since he came in he's been calling for you... Pleading with us even when only semi conscious to get you... He's gone through hell Sora... He really needs you... You're the only one of your immediate family he has left...”
Something inside Sora began to thaw out as he heard the muffled sounds of his twin calling out for him through the concrete walls that separated them.
The nurse looked down.
“I'm sorry this really is none of my business and I shouldn't have said anything... But I thought you should know...”
Sora bit the inside of his mouth.
“Well thanks for telling me...”
With that he walked by the nurse and out into the corridor.
<I know he needs me... But I need time to think this over... I mean he tried to rape me... But... Things are different now... Now all we have is each other...>
Slowly he walked down the corridor away from Roxas room following the signs which pointed towards the cafeteria.
<What the hell am I gonna do...?>
Music played in the elevator as they travelled upwards to Zexion's apartment the small dark haired man said nothing, he simply watched as the floor numbers ticked away on the digital counter.
Demyx couldn't help but wonder why someone who looked so small and vunerable, someone who Demyx thought he could easily overpower would invite someone, a stranger no less back to his apartment...
<Maybe he's just nuts... Maybe he's like a black belt in some weird martial art I've never heard of...>
Demyx's eyes opened wide as he dreamt up terrifying reasons as to why Zexion appeared to be so calm in such an odd situation.
Suddenly the elevator dinged the doors slid open and Zexion was walking out of it the blonde snapped out of his daydreaming and followed not uttering a word but holding himself tall to make himself look as big as possible.
<Maybe if I look bigger and tougher than him he won't try any funny stuff...>
Zexion stopped outside a white door on a long hall of identical white doors and pulled a key out of his pocket, slid it into the lock and wearily unlocked the door.
He held the door open for Demyx to come in and closed it behind him.
The dark haired man removed his shoes and left them by the door and then removed his coat and hung it on the coat rack yawning loudly.
Demyx followed suite but left his cap on...
Zexion walked into the main room of the house and Demyx followed cautiously.
What welcomed him was a large room with dark red coloured walls, one wall was painted black...
The furniture was all made of black leather...
Fresh flowers in tall glass vases adorned a coffee table and the glass dining room table...
Several dark wooden bookshelves stood against otherwise bare parts of the wall...
Each one of them was crammed full with books.
In the middle of the room near a large leather sofa and two smaller leather ones was a coffee table and a cabinet on top of which stood a large flat screen tv...
Demyx was in awe of this place and he hadn't even gotten out of the first room yet.
The dark haired paramedic cleared his throat loudly and caught Demyx's attention.
“Would you like me to show you around?”
The blonde nodded slowly.
“Well obviously this is the living room... Feel free to read anything or watch tv... Sorry if there aren't many channels... I don't bother with tv much... Usually I read... The odd time I watch movies... There are dvds in the cabinet that the tv is on top of... So feel free to watch those too.”
Zexion led Demyx out to the brightly lit kitchen.
<What is this guys obsession with dark colours...?>
Almost everything in the kitchen was dark wood along with a black oven, fridge, washing machine and coffee maker...
The walls however in striking contrast were a light sky blue...
“The fridge is here, I keep the glasses here, mugs here... Usually I just have enough food to do myself for a few days but please help yourself, I have to go shopping tomorrow anyway so if theres anything you want please let me know... I usually have fresh coffee on the stove too before I go to work so if you want some just take it, I'll leave it on minimum heat on the stove so it's hot for you when you get up.”
Zexion led Demyx to the bathroom.
“This is the main bathroom, theres a bathroom attached to your bedroom too if you choose to stay...”
Demyx flinched at the mention of staying, he wasn't sure he trusted Zexion yet and immediately held himself upright again towering a full head and shoulders over Zexion, the dark haired male didn't even seem to notice.
“Both have fresh towels so use whichever one you want to.”
Zexion led Demyx towards a room at the end of one of the halls off the main room slowly he twisted the door handle and the door opened with a click.
Beyond the door was a large room with warm cream coloured walls a light coloured wooden floor and a wooden framed four poster bed against the wall in the centre with cream material hanging from the frame.
A bedside locker stood at either side of the bed with a lamp on it across from the bed and off to the left stood a large antique looking closet.
“This is your room, the bathroom is through that door. I'll leave you to settle in...”
He stopped again and turned around before leaving.
“Oh I almost forgot... Theres another hallway across the other side of the living room straight across from this one. The first door on the left has a computer and a phone should you want to contact anyone or use the internet. At the end of that hall is my room. If you need anything just knock on the door or call me... Right... Well I think that's everything...”
He yawned again loudly.
“Please excuse me... I must catch up on sleep... You know where everything is now so please make yourself at home...”
With that Zexion closed Demyx's bedroom door behind him and made his way across the main room to the hallway and down to his own bedroom.
Going inside he closed his door behind him and let himself fall straight onto his bed...
Within minutes he was fast asleep.
Demyx looked around his room in wonder.
<This place is amazing...>
Pulling his cap off his head he went into the bathroom and checked out inside...
A large bath with a shower attached to the wall over it caught his eye...
Slowly he went over to it and turned on one of the taps...
Warm water came out of the tap he sighed pleased with this and put the plug in the drain...
The bath filled up slowly as he collected a towel and stripped himself of the clothes he had been wearing since the crash.
The grisly scene coursed its way back through his mind...
The woman who the paramedics had been taking away from the crash site the skin ground down to bare muscle and the look of sheer terror on her face...
He shuddered as he got into the bath and started to scrub his skin as though scrubbing might somehow ease the horrible fact that he had killed this woman and her husband...
Tears ran down his face as he scrubbed his skin harder and harder.
“I'm sorry...”
He whispered as his tears dissolved into the suds of the bath.
“I didn't mean it... I didn't even see you until it was too late...”
Sobs escaped his sore throat...
He hadn't cried in years, and it was taking its toll on him...
His arms were as red as his eyes from scrubbing when he finally left the bath.
Once he was dry he pulled on his boxer shorts and climbed into the large bed, where he fell into a deep dreamless sleep...
Axel was stirring his coffee mindlessly...
<“Did you even think about what losing you would've done to me...?” Am I just being paranoid... Or was there more to that comment than I'd like to believe...?>
His legs shifted restlessly under the white counter where he sat by the window.
It had started raining again...
Or perhaps it hadn't stopped...
He wasn't sure and he didn't care...
“... Hey...”
Axel looked up from his coffee.
“Hey... How's Roxas?”
Sora sat down and looked at his hands.
“What am I supposed to do here Axel...?”
His voice was quiet but stressed.
“I know he's my brother, I know the right thing to do in everyones eyes would be to stay with him... But... I don't know if I can handle that... I don't know if I can go back to that house... I don't know if I'm ready to face it knowing that my parents aren't there and never will be there again...”
The redhead nodded.
“I understand...”
Sora's head shot up his expression was one of surprise.
“You do...?”
Axel nodded.
“Of course... Your situation is a little different to that of a for want of a better word 'normal' family... No disrespect... But Roxas was part of the reason you left... So of course this is going to take some time to think about...”
The brunette nodded slowly.
“Is feeling like a total bastard a normal part of this...?”
Axel shrugged.
“I've never been in this exact situation... But I would imagine that you would be prone to some guilt... I mean everyone feels like they owe their family... Don't they?”
Sora nodded looking hopeless.
“I think the best thing to do for the moment is distance yourself from the situation take some time to clear your head and then make a decision... Roxas won't be going anywhere for the next few days for certain anyway.”
The brunette nodded.
“Yeah I guess you're right... I should probably go back and tell him I'll be back though...”
Axel nodded despite himself.
“Yeah it's probably for the best.”
Sora left Axel sitting alone again with his coffee.
<Why can't I just ask him out straight about earlier?>
Sora walked down the white clinical hall slowly thinking about Roxas...
About how things used to be...
And about how things would undoubtedly change now without their parents around...
A familiar twinge made it's way through his system as he relived a few of their more pleasurable memories together...
He pushed it away and kept moving towards his brothers ward...
Roxas had stopped shouting for him...
Sora reached the window of the ward and looked in Roxas had resumed his slumped lying down position.
The brunette rolled his eyes.
<Great he's throwing a tantrum...>
But when he walked inside loud sobs could be heard coming from Roxas.
<Maybe... Maybe he's not faking...>
Sora was exhausted at this stage and was too tired to care and simply went to his brothers bedside and said.
“Look I'll be back... But I need to sleep... I'm exhausted... I don't know what's going to happen... This whole situation leaves me with a tonne of things to sort out... I'm so tired I don't even have it in me to cry anymore...”
The blonde turned to Sora.
“T-That's okay... I think I've got enough in me to cry for us both...”
The brunette took in his brother...
Roxas looked thinner than he had been when Sora left the house for good...
And for the first time in his life Sora saw Roxas looking weak and truly in need...
The blonde looked at Sora.
“Me doing this was selfish... It really was... I don't want to hold you back from anyone or anything... You should go back and do what you have to do... I'll be fine here I promise you I won't do anything that dumb ever again...”
Tears were running down Roxas cheeks as he said this.
“I understand how important Axel is to you... And I swear I never meant to try and mess that up...”
He sobbed heavily despite trying to come off as strong.
“I swear... I'll stay out of your life as soon as I'm out of here...”
Sora's heart twinged at these words...
His hands and heart reacted quicker than his mind...
Sora's finger went to Roxas' lips to silence him...
The blonde fell silent surprised to be silenced in such a manner by his brother...
But before the surprise could fully register Sora replaced his finger with his lips...
Roxas gasped in surprise as Sora's lips gently brushed his own...
As quickly as it had started it was over...
The brunette gulped.
“Now you know I'll definitely be back... Because if I'm not...”
He scribbled Axel's number on a tissue and left it on Roxas' bedside table.
“You can tell Axel what just happened...”
Roxas shook his head.
“I would never...”
Sora put his finger to Roxas' lips again...
“Rest now... I'll be back tomorrow... I'm trusting you Roxas... So don't mess this up...”
The blonde nodded watching Sora as he left the room and passed by the window staring with blue eyes that seemed to gaze straight into his soul...
<I promise I'll never tell...>
Sora passed by the window and once he was out of sight of Roxas put his fingers to his lips to try and dull the tingling sensation that kissing Roxas had put firmly back there...
<That was not supposed to happen... I'm supposed to hate him... I was supposed to tell him I hate him, leave and never come back... Live with Axel and continue the perfect life I have been living these past months... But how can my life ever be complete when it's obvious that I still love Roxas...>
This thought stopped Sora dead in his tracks as his hand covered his mouth in realisation.
<I still love Roxas...>
Roxas lay back in his bed sighing...
His heart was thumping in his chest again...
Lips were buzzing from where Sora's had touched his...
He wanted to fight these feelings so badly...
<Maybe Sora should leave again... Before I screw up his life any worse... Even if it would break my heart... It'd be worth it to see him happy... It's about time I stopped being selfish... I owe him that much...>
Tears found their way into his eyes again.
<Question is can I willingly let him go?>
Axel sighed as he stirred his cold coffee.
<Can I really win against his brother... His twin... They're closer than anything me and Sora could ever be really... They grew up together were born together... And crossed the boundary to be lovers... How can I replace that... And if I can't replace him, can I be man enough to face the fact that they're probably never going to part?>
The redhead looked up to see Sora standing at the entrance to the cafeteria almost as if he was deciding if he should go in or not.
Axel stood up leaving his cold coffee sitting there and opened the door.
“Hey... Do you want to get something here or would you rather just head off home?”
Sora sighed.
“I think home would be the best choice... I'm feeling really really exhausted...”
Axel kissed his forehead gently.
“It's been a tough day for you baby... I think home and sleep would be best for you.”
The brunette nodded wearily as Axel held his hand and led him to the exit...
Away from the hospital...
Away from Roxas...
When Demyx awoke again it dark in the room and the curtains were still open...
<How long was I asleep for?>
Wiping his eyes gently he pushed his legs off the side of the bed...
The house felt comfortably warm...
Pulling his jeans on he walked out of the room his head was thumping...
The main room was gently lit with table lamps...
He gazed around it and seeing Zexion nowhere made his way into the kitchen.
Grabbing a tall glass from the press he filled it up with water and gulped it down fast.
Sighing he filled up another glass and gulped it back too...
Putting the glass down he made his way back into the living room only to see Zexion fast asleep on the sofa with an open book in his hand.
Demyx immediately rethought everything he had previously thought about Zexion.
<Could it be he's just a really nice guy...?>
Creeping over Demyx carefully removed the book from Zexion's hand...
Only to have Zexion blinking his eyes open when Demyx turned back around...
The dark mans eyes took in Demyx's toned physique before wiping his eyes sleepily.
“Hello... Sorry I must've dozed off... I meant to have dinner cooked and all by now...”
Demyx now feeling horribly exposed without a shirt on crossed his arms over his chest.
“Oh please don't worry on my account... I'm just happy to have had a place to sleep for a while...”
Zexion sat up.
“What time is it anyway?”
Demyx checked his phone.
“Twenty past 9 at night...”
The dark haired man's eyes opened wide.
“Oh wow... I really really overslept...”
Demyx shrugged.
“Well you don't have to be anywhere do you?”
Zexion shook his head.
“No... I have the next four days off...”
The blonde nodded his head.
“Uhm... I'm not much of a cook... But...”
The dark haired man shook his head.
“No no... You're a guest... I would never have you or any guest cooking in my home...”
The blonde held his hand up to his head and closed his eyes tightly.
Zexion stood up genuinely concerned and put his hand on Demyx's shoulder.
“Are you okay?”
The blondes skin was warm...
And for a moment a scene of what it would be laying next to him in bed flashed through Zexion's head.
“It's just a headache... I'll be fine...”
Zexion's hand lingered for a moment and then he quickly retracted it.
“I'll get you painkillers. You're not allergic to anything are you?”
The blonde shook his head as Zexion sat him down on the sofa and then went out to the kitchen fetching painkillers and water.
Returning to the living room Zexion held out the painkillers and the water.
“Here take these you'll feel better...”
Demyx took them from him and laid them out on the coffee table then turned to look Zexion in the eye.
“Why are you being so nice to me?”
The dark haired male wanted to break eye contact...
Truthfully he had no idea why he had brought Demyx here...
Or why he trusted him so much...
Or why he had risked his job for him...
Sure Demyx was cute...
But he'd never done this for a stranger before cute or not.
Zexion tried to break eye contact but Demyx grabbed his chin and forced him to look into his aqua coloured eyes.
The smaller mans heart was beating fast and his mouth was drying up...
He wasn't sure why the blonde made him feel so nervous he'd been with guys before gone out on a few dates even fucked one or two of them but no one had ever had this effect on him and he didn't like feeling so out of control...
Usually in this situation he'd have swatted his hand away, recollected his cold demeanor made a sarcastic comment and maybe asked him to leave...
But this time for some reason he was like a deer stuck in headlights.
He was forced to stare into those big aqua eyes...
He felt like he was trying to prove his innocence in court.
“I... I...”
Demyx held his hand on Zexion's chin gently and kept his voice low.
“You've put me in a separate bedroom... You haven't asked me for money... You haven't tried anything on with me... So why...? I don't understand... I could be a psychopath for all you know...”
Zexion could feel Demyx's breath on his face, it smelled like mint toothpaste.
“I... I don't know why... Y-You needed help and you have... No one... I felt for you... I just... I just wanted to help...”
Demyx saw no signs of lying or distrust in Zexion's eyes...
Zexion didn't know if he should be afraid or confused those aqua eyes were still studying his face, but his grip was gentle.
Demyx slowly removed his hand from Zexion's chin and the dark haired man quickly got up from the sofa and moved into the kitchen.
His breath came in quick gasps as his shaking hands turned on the tap and got himself a glass of water...
<What the hell just happened...>
The blonde took the painkillers, sat forward and rubbed his temples with his hands.
<I think... Maybe I came on too strong... I guess its not something you ask someone who has let you into their home...>
Zexion drank the water quickly.
<Maybe this was a mistake... Although I guess I would be suspicious too if someone just let me into their house no questions asked...>
The dark haired man left the kitchen and walked to his room...
Demyx stood up from the sofa and walked down the hallway and knocked on Zexion's door.
“Zexion...?”
The dark haired man turned to look at the door, he needed time to think about this...
Demyx's behaviour had startled him and he really wasn't sure how to handle it...
“Y-Yes...?”
The blonde leaned against the wall beside the door outside.
“Look... I'm sorry... This... Has been a weird day for me... I've never crashed before... I've never...”
He gulped.
“Been responsible for the death of anyone before... I've never been treated this nicely by another human being who didn't...”
He sighed trying to hold himself together.
“Who didn't want something in return.”
Zexion turned towards the door at the mention of this.
“Now I don't expect you to forgive me... Hell you don't even know me... I'll piss off and leave you alone... I just wanted to... Fuck... It doesn't matter... I'm sorry... I'll get my stuff and go.”
The dark haired man opened the bedroom door.
“Uh... No... I mean stay... I understand why you'd be suspicious of me... And I guess all I can do is give you my word that there is no ulterior motive here... Of course... These actions and those at the hospital would give you the impression that there is... And I suppose you have no reason to trust me... But if it were to come to you or me winning any kind of physical struggle I'm guessing the odds would be on your side... So I just put myself in a dangerous situation really... Uhm... Where am I going with this...?”
Zexion looked towards his feet...
Demyx laughed a little and Zexion looked up, he was twice as handsome when he smiled.
The dark haired man cleared his throat.
“Uhm... How about we forget about this little incident and order in? I'm starving.”
The blonde man nodded the smile was gone from his face again and Zexion guessed he didn't smile a lot.
“Yeah... That sounds good...”
Zexion smiled politely.
“So what kind of food do you like... Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai, Italian?”
Demyx cocked his head.
“If by Italian, you mean pizza, I'm all for that.”
The dark haired man nodded and walking into the living room picked up the phone.
“Oh what do you want on yours...?”
The blonde pursed his lips and stroked his chin for a moment...
“Hmmm... Uh... Chicken and ham... Oh and peppers... I love peppers...”
With that Demyx went into his room and pulled his t shirt on.
Zexion nodded and proceeded to dial.
“Hey... Yeah I'd like two 12 inch pizzas for delivery please... One with ham chicken and peppers... And the second with sweetcorn and pineapple please... Thirty minutes yeah thats perfect thanks very much...”
Zexion hung up the phone and opened a cabinet at the end of one of his bookshelves.
“So Demyx what's your poison?”
The blonde walked back into the living room now wearing a t shirt much to Zexion's supressed disappointment.
“Uhm... What are you having?”
The dark haired male shrugged.
“Probably red wine... I'm not much of a drinker...”
Demyx shrugged.
“Got any beer?”
Zexion shook his head.
“I'm sorry... Hey let me run out and get some...”
The blonde put his hand out and holding his shoulder stopped him.
“Don't do that...”
Zexion looked from his hand up to his shoulder and up to his mesmerising eyes again.
“I mean... I'll just have what you're having...”
The dark haired man nodded feeling his heart speeding up again, technically when he asked Demyx to stay he was telling the truth... He did want to help him... Just because he was having fantasies about him now didn't change that... It just made things a little more difficult... Luckily for Zexion he could handle himself...
Most of the time...
<Is this really a good idea Demyx...?>
<What the hell am I gonna do...?>
Music played in the elevator as they travelled upwards to Zexion's apartment the small dark haired man said nothing, he simply watched as the floor numbers ticked away on the digital counter.
<This place is amazing...>
<Great he's throwing a tantrum...>
But when he walked inside loud sobs could be heard coming from Roxas.
<Maybe... Maybe he's not faking...>
<I promise I'll never tell...>
<I still love Roxas...>
<How long was I asleep for?>
Wiping his eyes gently he pushed his legs off the side of the bed...
<Could it be he's just a really nice guy...?>
<What the hell just happened...>
Sora x Roxas 4 Agenda666 Chapter 7
Axel packed their overnight bags into the car and closed the trunk…
Only to have Sora capture his lips in a soft kiss, his blue eyes were still teary and full of unspoken gratitude.
The redhead wrapped his arms around him and kissed his hair gently before opening the passenger door for him and closing it lightly when he got inside.
He hoped for Sora's sake that everything at home was okay…
But something in his gut contradicted this hope.
Sora sat looking out the window at the darkening sky…
<Looks like it's gonna rain…>
Axel climbed into the drivers seat and put a reassuring hand on Sora's knee.
"Try and sleep baby… I'll wake you up when we get there…"
The brunette nodded and tried to close his eyes…
But horrible scenes of his brother suffering and screaming in pain kept invading the space on the back of his eyelids.
His blue eyes opened and he looked out the window at the spatters of rain hitting the glass, hoping despite everything that had happened that his family were okay.
Roxas stroked his chin thoughtfully at this question…
"What kind of guys am I into…?"
The brunette nurse smiled at his thoughtful expression.
"Well… I'm a sucker for big eyes… I love big blue eyes… Dark hair… Not black but like dark brown hair looks great on most guys… Not too tall… But not too short either… Someone who cares about their figure… But isn't like obsessed… Or afraid to eat some pizza now and then… Someone who can make me laugh, but who can be serious when the situation calls for it… Loyal, trustworthy and more than anything loving… And not afraid to show it either…"
An image of Sora flashed through his head.
The nurse laughed snapping him out of his thoughtful daze.
"Ha ha so nothing too specific then?"
Roxas shook his head forcing a grin to his face.
"No nothing too specific… I mean like that description fits every second or third guy you pass on the street right?"
The nurse laughed.
"I wish!"
The blonde thought again of his twin.
<Me too… Maybe then I wouldn't have fallen in love with Sora… And maybe this situation wouldn't have turned out the way it did…>
The door of Roxas' room clicked open and the nurse who'd been looking after him earlier on walked in looking stressed out, upset and sleep deprived.
The brunette nurse turned to look at the older nurse and standing up smiled at Roxas put a hand on his shoulder and took away his empty breakfast dishes.
"I'll see you again at lunch maybe?"
The blonde smiled over at her as she left…
"It's a date."
The door on the ward closed with a loud 'click' in the vast silence that suddenly enveloped the room.
Roxas looked at the silent nurse who sighed and spoke clearly despite looking like she would fall apart at any second.
"Your parents left the hospital last night after you were brought in here…"
"Yeah… Did they go home?"
The nurse stumbled over her words not knowing quite how to say this.
"I'm not quite sure…"
The blonde cocked his head.
"Will I be able to see them soon?"
The woman bit her lip.
"Roxas your parents were in a car crash…"
His blue eyes opened up wide.
"W-what…? Are they okay?"
She met his gaze and he already knew by the look in her eyes.
"I'm afraid they died on impact…"
He heard the words but they didn't seem to make sense…
The nurse looked at him and continued to speak but he couldn't hear her anymore…
His heartbeat was steadily increasing and pulsing in his ears, his hands gripped the bed sheets and his breathing sped up.
<How…? I only talked to them a few hours ago… If I'd never attempted this… They'd still be alive…>
Roxas started to tear at the bandages on his wrists hissing he was breathing so fast and hard through his grit teeth.
The nurse called out the door and several nurses ran in to restrain him, Roxas struggled against them desperately trying to tear at the bandages.
Tears were falling down his cheeks as his hands and feet were once again strapped to the bed, defeated he stopped struggling as a nurse readied another sedative but halted seeing him calm down.
A long choked gasp left his throat as he lay on his back hopelessly crying.
"When… When did this happen?"
The nurse wiped the tears from his face.
"Last night… It appeared they were on their way back here…"
Roxas shut his eyes tightly against the world letting tears steam down the sides if his face into his hair.
"It's all my fault… If I'd never done this they wouldn't have been in the car…"
The older nurse wiped his tears and smoothed his hair back from his face.
"It's not your fault Roxas…"
The blonde shook his head swallowing hard.
"It's all my fault…"
He gasped for air between chesty sobs and misery filled sighs.
The young brunette nurse looked through the window on his ward…
Seeing him so full of sadness after his cheerful disposition at breakfast it was almost hard to believe it was the same person…
Making eye contact with him for a moment she put one hand on her heart and bowed her head in a solitary sign of respect for whatever he'd just experienced before moving away wiping her misty eyes and trying to put on a smile for her next patient.
Demyx's eyes spilled tears down his face as one hand remained over his mouth.
He shook his head back and forth for what seemed like forever.
<I killed them…>
Zexion watched him sadly.
"The impact knocked them both unconscious… And they died soon after… Their death was relatively painless."
The blonde's hand slowly left his mouth which was pursed, his eyes were looking at the bed sheets, but staring into nothing.
"I killed them…"
He swallowed hard.
"I killed them…"
Demyx looked down at his hands which then covered his face…
Disbelief and panic making his nails dig into his skin.
"I killed them…"
Zexion walked over to his bedside and taking his wrists gently forced them away from his face and pushed them down to the bed momentarily snapping Demyx out of his horror.
"I don't want you to hurt yourself…"
His dark eyes looked directly into Demyx's light blue ones.
"This situation is unfortunate, accidents happen… But this is no one's fault. No more yours than mine. If I had of been there quicker perhaps I could have revived them. Or gotten them here faster. Maybe the doctor could've done something to save them. We can all blame ourselves Demyx. But if I blamed myself for everyone I dealt with in this hospital who's died, I'd probably be dead right now too…"
Dark eyes held Demyx's gaze as he slowly released the wrists of the blonde man.
"But if I wasn't here what would happen to all the people I save?"
Zexion held his gaze for a moment more before fetching Demyx a glass of water and leaving it on his bedside table.
Demyx's eyes became glassy and he sobbed loudly staring at the bed.
He looked so hopeless that without really thinking about it Zexion reached out and pushed Demyx's head to his shoulder holding him lightly as the blonde gasped out sobs that shook his entire body.
"This isn't your fault Demyx… This happens to people all the time… Wrong place, wrong time… That's the only crime you're guilty of…"
Demyx sobbed loudly into Zexion's shoulder wrapping his arms around the small man.
Zexion rubbed his blonde hair gently and spoke quietly and reassuringly to him as he cried.
Sora sat forward shaking violently.
Axel looked over at him concern evident in his eyes.
"Pull over…"
The redhead pulled the car into the breakdown lane of the highway but before they even fully stopped Sora opened the door and jumped out vomiting into the foliage at the side of the road.
The redhead quickly undid his seatbelt and rubbed Sora's back reassuringly.
"Are you okay baby?"
The brunette shook his head.
"Something horrible has happened… I can feel it…"
Axel had a bad feeling too, but he wasn't about to let Sora know that.
"You're just assuming the worst baby… It'll be okay…"
Sora breathed heavily trying to settle his stomach while Axel rubbed his back lightly.
"I hope you're right…"
Axel helped him back into the car and wiped his watering eyes.
"It won't be much longer until we're there… I would say about another half an hour should do it… Do you think you'll be okay until then?"
Sora nodded.
"I'll try not to get sick in the car…"
The redhead smiled and shook his head.
"I could care less about the car baby… All I care about is your wellbeing…"
Kissing him lightly on the forehead he closed the passenger door and climbed into the drivers seat.
Sora looked over at Axel and sighed finally asking a question that he feared the answer to.
"Do you think everything is okay at home?"
Axel swallowed his mouth suddenly becoming dry.
"I guess we'll just have to wait and see…"
The brunette bit his lip looking out the window, he had been seeking reassurance…
He already knew there was something very wrong, it had been coursing through his veins since he woke up…
But until they got there, there was nothing he could do.
Roxas just lay there.
He wasn't given any sedatives in the end, he was being quiet and still by his own choice.
Silent tears ran down his face, he gazed at the wall opposite the one with the view to the nurses station.
His arms lay limp by his side…
The only sign of life was his chest raising and falling as he inhaled and exhaled and his blinking blank blue eyes that stared in a glazed over state at the wall.
His body was still…
But his mind was a maelstrom of unspoken words and understated emotions.
<I never got to tell them I love them…
I never hugged them before they went…
Never apologised for doing this…
Should've thanked them more for all they did for me…
They won't see me grow up…
I'll be all alone in that big house…
Full of their dreams, their lives and wishes…
And photos…
And possessions…
They're never coming back…
I'll never ever see them again…
I'm totally alone…>
A quiet sob left Roxas throat as he leaned his head towards his hand and closed his eyes.
He knew sleep wouldn't come…
Memories of his family flashed behind his eyelids…
Simple things like dinner together, bedtime stories and Christmas mornings when they were children opening up all their presents that Santa had left…
Pain welled up inside him making him want to scream, but he didn't have the will to do anything except cry silently to himself as all that his parents would miss in their stolen future ran through his head…
"I need to get out of here…"
Demyx tried to get off the bed as tears ran down his cheeks.
"I need to be alone to think about this…"
Zexion stopped him from getting off the bed stating flatly.
"How about I call someone to pick you up and bring you home? You're in no state to drive…"
The blonde shook his head.
"I already told you… There is no one to call…"
Zexion mentally cursed himself.
"I'll drop you home. Where do you live?"
Demyx sighed heavily.
"I pretty much spent my life in that truck… Long haul truck driver… Not much time for things like friends… Family… A home… I just rent wherever I wind up after deliveries are done until the next one comes around…"
The dark haired man stared into the Demyx's saddened blue eyes and felt something in his chest wince.
"You can stay with me."
The blonde man shook his head.
"Not happening."
Zexion cocked his head to the side.
"Huh…? Why not?"
Distrust was clear in Demyx's steady gaze.
Zexion stared back with a stony gaze of his own.
"You don't trust me? Understandable… But seeing as I work long and unholy hours I'm often out… And god knows I don't know you well enough to be offering you a place to stay, let alone a place that's empty a lot of the time… But I am extending that much trust to you…"
The dark haired man broke eye contact leaving the sentence hanging in the air for about a minute.
"Of course if you're not interested…"
Zexion turned around and headed towards the door.
"Then I apologise for wasting your time… I should go, I need to sleep…"
Demyx hopped off the bed grabbing his cap from the nightstand.
"Uhm… Zexion?"
The dark haired man turned around wiping his tired eyes.
"Yes?"
Demyx shifted uncomfortably…
Unsure that what he was about to do was the right decision.
"I'm sorry, I'd like to stay with you… Even just for a few hours… Just to get out of here, I need to clear my head…"
Zexion nodded.
"Sure thing…"
Demyx didn't have anything with him except his cap and his cell phone and followed Zexion down the corridor.
"Do you have everything…?"
The blonde nodded.
"Anything else I had with me was in the truck…"
Zexion looked up and down the corridor then ducked behind the nurses station and signed Demyx out forging one of the nurses signatures.
<Why are you doing this…? This could get you FIRED. You don't even know him!>
Walking quickly down the corridor Zexion held his breath hoping he wouldn't bump into anyone he knew…
The automatic front doors were in sight and in less than a minute he and Demyx would be at his car…
As the exit doors came into closer view Zexion spotted Marluxia.
<You have got to be fucking kidding me.>
The dark haired man simply kept walking hoping the pink haired nurse wouldn't stop him…
But before the thought had fully crossed through his mind the venomous voice of the candy floss haired demon filled his ears…
"Hey Zexion…"
The dark haired man looked up in disdain.
"Best keep away from Demyx… I'm the head nurse on this ward… And he's under MY care… You'd do well to remember your place paramedic."
Zexion looked at Marluxia curiously.
<Wait… Isn't Demyx behind me…?>
Shooting a quick glance behind himself he confirmed that Demyx in fact wasn't behind him and looked back at Marluxia relieved but feigning disinterest.
"Professionalism Marluxia… You'd do well to remember patients are here to get better… NOT to be hit on."
Stepping around him Zexion made his way out to the car park and walked up to his car only to have Demyx walk up to the passenger door calmly like he'd been behind him the whole time.
Zexion looked at Demyx with confusion.
"Where the…? Actually never mind…"
The dark haired man opened the car door, automatic locking unlocked both doors at once and Demyx climbed in quickly trying to draw as little attention to himself as possible.
Zexion hesitated for a moment.
<I don't know this guy… And I'm bringing him home… I signed him out of hospital… I could lose my job…>
Demyx looked over at him hopefully.
There was a moment when the blonde swore Zexion was going to tell him that this was a bad idea and bring him back inside the hospital…
But Zexion turned the keys in the ignition and pulled out of the parking space and drove out towards the main road.
The blonde gulped so hard Zexion heard it, it was more than obvious that he was trying to hold back tears…
The dark haired man kept his eyes on the road.
"It's okay to cry you know."
Demyx quickly wiped his eyes and they sat in silence as they drove towards Zexion's apartment.
The car pulled to a halt outside Axel's house and Sora awoke from his light sleep with a start.
He looked around himself in alarmed confusion.
Axel lay his hand lightly on Sora's shoulder.
"Calm down… It's okay we're here…"
The brunette rubbed his heavy eyes and sighed.
"So what now…?"
The redhead kissed Sora lightly on the forehead.
"First we go inside settle then I'll call around the place and see if anyone's heard anything…"
Axel's mother looked out the window of their house and spotting them went outside she looked pale…
The redhead opened the door and stepped outside closing the door after himself moving around the car to open the door to help Sora out but his mother stopped him before he could.
Her voice was low her words exact.
"Axel… There was an article in the newspaper this morning…"
The redhead looked at her like she was mad.
"Eh… There's articles in the newspaper every morning mom… That's kind of what newspapers are for…"
He laughed humourlessly but his mother shot him a look and he stopped dead turning away from the car.
"Jeez easy… I was just kidding…"
"Come up to my room when you get inside I'll explain then…"
Axel watched her go and looking through the glass at Sora shrugged then opened the door for him.
"What was that about?"
"Your guess is as good as mine…"
Axel popped the trunk open and grabbing their bags he put them down easily on the lawn before slamming it closed again Sora was looking at him curiously, then stopped…
Grabbed his bag and walked into the house.
Axel felt worry build up in his stomach as Sora walked into the house.
<I hope everything's okay…>
Picking his own bag up off the wet grass he went into the house after Sora and closed the door.
The brunette was standing in the middle of the hallway awkwardly and Axel couldn't help but smile at him.
Picking up Sora's bag he kissed him gently on the cheek and led him into a bedroom off the hallway putting both their bags down at the foot of the double bed.
"How about you get settled in here and I'll go ask my mom if she's heard anything?"
Sora nodded slowly laying back on the bed, all the worry of the past hours was beginning to seriously take it out of him…
The redhead closed the door behind him as he slowly went up the stairs and entered his mothers room.
She was sitting on her bed with the cordless phone in her hand she simply looked at Axel and motioned to the newspaper she had open on the bed.
The redhead took it up and took in the pictures of the wreckage of a grisly car crash and started browsing the article not sure why his mother had shown him this until he saw the names…
<Sora's parents?! But what about…?>
His mother cleared her throat and he turned to face her, her voice was very quiet as she spoke.
"I've just been on to the hospital enquiring about Sora's parents… Both of them died at the scene… Also his brother Roxas tried to kill himself… It seems his parents were on their way back to the hospital when the car crashed…"
Her hand was at her mouth and her face was pale.
"I feel simply awful for him…"
Axel's hand stroked his lips in thought.
"How am I ever gonna break this to Sora…?"
Axel's mother laid a hand on his shoulder.
"I think we should bring him to see his brother first then try and gently break it to him…"
Axel shook his head.
"No… He'll be more upset if I keep it from him… I suppose I'd best just bite the bullet and get it over with…"
His mother bit her lip.
"Do what you think is best… But be gentle with him, these next few days are going to be terribly hard on him…"
The redhead took a deep breath and stood up from the bed.
He walked out of the bedroom and downstairs…
Their bedroom door was open but Sora was not inside.
He walked out to the kitchen to find Sora frozen to the spot holding a newspaper in his hand.
"Sora…?"
The brunette simply stood there, Axel carefully took the newspaper from him and sat him down.
<Shit… He's already seen it…>
He was wide eyed pale and yet straight faced…
Silent tears fell down his shocked face.
"Sora…?"
The brunettes tear eyes flicked to Axel's his whole body was beginning to tremble.
"My parents… Are they…?"
He couldn't even say the word…
Axel gulped.
"My mom called the hospital as soon as she saw it… Roxas is okay… But your parents…"
Sora's eyes welled up and he leaned forward into his hands choking on escaping sobs that were heavy and hard on his chest.
Axel moved close to him and rubbed his back not knowing what to say…
Sora thought he might die from the emotional pain coursing through his veins as he gasped for air through his tears.
<I never even got to say I loved them… Or goodbye…>
He put his face into his arms and sobbed deeply knowing that the pain wouldn't go away anytime soon…
Axel looked distraught at Sora's current state.
"I'm sorry Sora… I'm so sorry you had to find out like this too…"
The brunette looked up at him with his saddened blue eyes.
"This… This isn't your fault…"
He stood up from the table despite the fact that he was exhausted and his head was reeling.
"I-I need to see Roxas…"
Axel cleared his throat standing up.
"Maybe… You should lie down for a little bit first…"
Sora turned around to look at him.
"No! Now! Where is he?"
The redhead couldn't meet his gaze.
"What aren't you telling me?!"
Axel shifted uncomfortably and inhaled a deep breath.
"Roxas attempted suicide."
The brunette opened his mouth and closed it again…
Unsure of what to say to this…
"He… Tried… To kill himself?"
Sora steadied himself on the kitchen table…
"This… This is too much… I can't take this…"
Axel tried to touch him but Sora pushed his hands away.
"Just… Stop it! I need to see Roxas."
"But Sora… You should rest you've been…"
The brunette shoved him away.
"Just take me to see Roxas… Please."
Defeated Axel got his car keys and opened the front door for Sora.
Nothing was said on the drive to the hospital…
And Axels sombre silence unsettled Sora…
He was never seemed to be that quiet and never before had there been this horrible sickening tension between them.
Roxas stared at the ceiling in his room.
He wasn't trying to break free of his restraints…
He hadn't said anything since shortly after he'd been told…
He didn't touch any food…
He was barely even moving…
It was as if he just wanted to give up on life and everything in it…
The young brunette nurse looked through the window at him trying her best to remain detached but finding it incredibly hard to not feel sad for him.
<I wish there was something I could do that would make him feel better…>
She could feel tears well up in her eyes and she turned away quickly bumping straight into a brunette haired male.
"Oh I'm so sor…"
She looked up at him and her mouth dropped open.
"Hi… Do you know where I could find…"
Cocking her head her first thought came from her mind to her lips in an instant.
"You're his twin…"
Her finger pointed through the window and Sora immediately ran into the ward to his brother.
He looked at his twin who was strapped down…
His blue eyes were closed, Sora wrapped his arms around Roxas his anger melting away as his eyes filled with tears.
"Roxas…"
The blondes eyes blinked open at the mention of his name.
"Sora…?"
The brunette nodded as his tears rolled down his face and into his brothers blonde hair.
"Sora… Is it really you…?"
The brunette pulled back looking into his brothers familiar eyes…
"Yes Roxas…"
And felt something more than he should be feeling for his brother pulsing its way through his body again.
"It's me… I'm here."
<Looks like it's gonna rain…>
<How…? I only talked to them a few hours ago… If I'd never attempted this… They'd still be alive…>
<I killed them…>
Zexion watched him sadly.

Sora x Roxas 4 Agenda666 Chapter 6
Ambulance sirens sounded in the warm summer night air as light rain began to fall all around the shocked truck driver…
He stared numbly over at the car afraid to look in…
He was sure they were dead.
<How could anyone hope to survive a crash like that?>
Ambulance crew swarmed around the accident spot like flies…
Talking to each other in calm and exact voices, saying things he knew were in English but that he couldn't hope to comprehend at that moment.
A hand reached out to the truck driver who was standing there staring as the people were removed from the destroyed vehicle, he glimpsed the woman and his hand shot up to his mouth.
One side of her face was grazed down to the bare pink under layer of skin and muscle and blood so much blood…
Her face was stuck in a mask of shock and fear…
A fragment of her last moments on this earth…
There was no way she was still alive.
"Are… Are they okay…?"
The truck drivers eyes were fixed on the woman, the paramedic led the man away from the crash site to the back of an ambulance.
"We'll need to get them to the hospital before we know."
The truck driver took his cap off and ran his hand through his blonde hair.
"Come on don't give me that shit… You know if they're… Dead or not…"
His hands started to shake and tears started to fall from his eyes.
"She even didn't see me coming she just charged out in front of my truck…"
The dark haired ambulance driver nodded wrapping a blanket around the young blonde haired man.
"Accidents like this happen… It's not your fault, everything will be okay."
The dark haired man handed the blonde man water.
"Try and drink a little… It'll make you feel better… What's your name?"
Rain was pouring down now the blonde was looking out from the back of the ambulance at car head lights turning around to find another route as police closed off the road they were on.
"Demyx… My name is Demyx…"
The dark haired paramedic smiled kindly at him.
"Nice to meet you Demyx my name is Zexion and I'll be looking after you okay?"
The blonde man nodded dully.
"O-Okay…"
Zexion moved around the ambulance collecting different items, checking Demyx's eyes for dilation and other signs of shock.
Demyx sat looking out at the road and the rainfall.
<I've possibly just killed someone… And this guy is dancing around me like I deserve to be looked after…>
The dark haired man smiled sympathetically at Demyx and sitting down beside him looked him in the eyes.
"Okay Demyx, we're gonna have to take you into hospital just to keep an eye on you, is that okay? Do you have a next of kin we should inform?"
The blonde's face slowly lowered to look at his shoes his light hair was dripping rain drops onto his jeans.
"Yeah that's fine and no, no next of kin…"
Zexion nodded at him and helping him into one of the seats in the back of the ambulance nodded at the driver…
Another member of the ambulance crew closed the doors on the back of the ambulance and climbed into the front next to the driver who switched the sirens on and started to drive quickly up the road.
Demyx looked out of the front of the ambulance and glimpsed the front of his truck and the car wedged into the front of it…
The people who were in that car were long gone…
Their blood stained the windscreen of the car they were driving and the ground around it…
Their blood was running in the rainwater…
Demyx swallowed hard suddenly feeling nauseous, Zexion was keeping a close eye on him and handed him a brown bag which after gagging several times the blonde vomited into.
Fever dreams invaded Roxas' sleep…
He kept seeing his parents and himself together, he and Sora were very young…
Maybe 5 or 6 years old…
But Sora kept running away from them…
Afraid and crying, like he didn't know who they were…
He kept trying to catch to his brother and just hold him for a moment, all he wanted was enough time to apologise…
But Sora could not be caught…
Even when he tried to cry out after him Roxas realised in horror that he had no voice to shout out with…
The young brunette kept looking back but running forward…
He ran through some trees into a forest and Roxas just kept running after him…
The longer they ran for, the darker the forest seemed to get…
Until a blinding light burst from nowhere and Sora darted towards it…
Roxas desperate to get his brother to recognise him, ran after him…
Sora's voice could be heard screaming…
It was a blood curdling sound.
Roxas stopped dead allowing his eyes to adjust to the light…
Only to find himself on a cliff ledge at the edge of the pitch black forest…
With his twin brother screaming falling to his death below him.
Roxas awoke with a start and sat up in bed.
"Sora!"
Sweat was running down his face and chest…
He was wearing clean smelling flannel pyjamas in a white hospital ward, he blinked a few times to let his eyes adjust.
Looking around himself he could see the bright flowers on his bedside table…
It was either sunrise or sunset, the partially lit up sky on the horizon through the window in his room told him that much.
There was a window on the other side of the room too, which looked out onto the nurses station…
A nurse walked into the somewhat dark room when she saw him sitting up.
"Hello Roxas, how are you feeling?"
The blonde blinked a few more times feeling his head pound.
"Like shit… My heads pounding…"
He sounded hoarse and his mouth felt like he hadn't drank anything in days.
The nurse nodded taking notes on a notepad.
"You have the headache because you're dehydrated dear… Do you remember vomiting?"
The blonde thought back and remembered hazy details.
"I think so…"
"You're going to need to intake a lot of fluid to replace what you lost from that… Okay?"
The blonde nodded in understanding.
"Do you want me to get you anything?"
Roxas looked down at his hands bound to the bed.
"Water please…"
The nurse nodded and set off to get Roxas water.
The blonde sighed and lay back against the pillows closing his eyes hard against the world trying to dull the pain in his head.
A nurse arrived up to the station outside Roxas room.
"Who here is in charge of a young male patient named Roxas?"
The nurse returning with the water in her hand answered.
"I am…"
The woman motioned to her to come into an empty room…
Glaring white lights welcomed her into the room, she clicked the door closed behind her knowing that this must be important.
"What's wrong?"
The nurse looked at the woman like she'd roused her from some kind of trance.
"I'm not quite sure of what we should do yet… But you're looking after him so I think it's best you know…"
Zexion helped Demyx out of the ambulance.
"Would you like a chair? If you're not feeling okay we can wheel you up."
The blonde shook his head still feeling a little woozy.
"I'm fine… I can walk…"
The dark haired man regarded him with concern.
"Are you sure?"
Demyx nodded but his legs were getting weak…
They walked towards the elevator, Zexion was keeping a close eye on the blonde man…
<He's quickly losing colour from his face and that usually means…>
Fast as lightning Zexion caught Demyx before he hit the floor.
<They're going to faint…>
"Can I get a trolley over here please?"
A nurse wheeled a trolley over and helped Zexion lift Demyx off the floor onto the wheeled bed.
"Zexion! Another 911 call… We need you out here."
The dark haired man looked at Demyx on the bed and quickly checked his heartbeat and breathing.
<He'll be okay…>
Zexion turned to the pink haired male nurse who helped him get Demyx onto the trolley.
"He's been in an accident, I don't think he's injured… But check him out just in case… Oh and keep him comfortable he's suffering from shock and he's been vomiting… Thanks!"
The pink haired male nodded and wheeled Demyx into the elevator as Zexion looked over his shoulder making his way back out to the ambulance.
<Professionalism Zexion… Don't get personally involved…>
Jumping into the back of the ambulance he watched the hospital shrink out of sight as they sped off towards the site of another accident.
Roxas shook his head slowly trying to keep his focus…
<I tried to kill myself… Mom and Dad must have kicked the door in… I didn't succeed… This isn't heaven or hell… Sora isn't here…>
A pain stabbed through his heart as he thought about his brother.
<What do I have to do…? Will I ever see you again?>
The sun started to rise over the horizon signifying that it was early morning making his room fill up with orange light.
Tears fell down Roxas cheeks as he lay there feeling helpless, hopeless and strapped up…
He felt as useful as a bird with clipped wings, he still wanted what he wanted before this, but now that he was in hospital, he wasn't even free to pursue it…
Unable to wipe his eyes he just let the tears roll freely down his cheeks and leave wet stains on his clean crisp pyjamas…
The sun was lighting the room up in burnt orange illuminating the tears he cried as they fell, making them look pretty maybe even pleasant, in ironically stark opposition to what he was feeling.
Sora sat up again in bed shaking his head…
The redhead sat up too.
"What's on your mind baby? You haven't slept all night…"
The brunette bunched the covers up in his hands.
"… Ever just get the feeling something isn't right…?"
Axel nodded.
"I've had that feeling once or twice…"
Standing up from the side of the bed Sora grabbed their house phone.
"I'm going to call home… Just to make sure everything's okay…"
The redhead yawned widely.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?"
The brunette shrugged.
"I'll just hide our house number…"
"As long as you're sure baby…"
Sora left the bedroom in his boxer shorts with the house phone in his hand, it was trembling even though it wasn't a cold morning…
Pacing the floor as the sun started to rise he held the phone in his hand and dialled in his parent's house number.
<I'll just stay on until someone answers… Ask a few questions and hang up…>
He took a deep breath as the ringing tone started…
And continued…
And continued…
Then finally went to the message minder…
*Hey this is…*
Sora hung up, wondering if they were all just asleep.
<It is pretty late… I mean they could be in bed…>
But something in his gut and his heart said differently.
Dialling a second time he waited…
And waited…
By the fifth time with no answer Sora started to panic.
<Someone would be awake by now… Definitely… Unless they're on holiday? No mom and dad only went away a while ago… Why would they be away again…?>
Nothing was adding up…
Wide awake now he ran a hand through his hair wondering what could be done…
His head was creating more and more horrible scenarios by the second…
He needed to get in contact with his family somehow…
Axel walked into the living room where he found Sora with his knees pulled up to his chest on the sofa with tears in his eyes.
The redhead still in his boxer shorts too put his arm around Sora's shoulder.
"Did you get through?"
The brunette shook his head from side to side gazing straight in front of him tears slowly spilling from his eyes as the rising sun started to illuminate their apartment…
"Well what do you want to do?"
The brunette's tears spilled down his cheeks as a barely audible whisper left his lips.
"I don't know…"
"Ugh…"
Demyx blinked his eyes open to the bright sunrise…
He shut them again…
Seeing the light imprinted on the back of his eyelids…
<I must have passed out…>
Holding up his hand to block out the light he surveyed the room he was in…
White, white, white…
And clinical as hell…
Except for a bunch of summer flowers on his bedside table…
<Who put those there…? Unless it's just something they do in this hospital…>
Sitting up slowly his face flushed red to find Zexion the paramedic from earlier asleep in the chair at the end of his bed.
The pink haired male nurse walked into Demyx's room smiling.
"Hey there! You feeling better?"
The blonde scratched the back of his head slowly.
"A little better… Yeah…"
His mind suddenly flashed back to the accident, his face became slightly paled and his lips turned down into a frown.
The pink haired nurse looked at him in concern.
"What's wrong? Is there anything I can get you or do to make you feel better?"
Demyx swallowed away the sudden guilty lump in his throat.
"A-Actually… I wondered if… You could find out… The people I crashed into last night… A… Are they okay?"
Zexion snored suddenly catching Marluxia's attention the pink haired man raised an eyebrow at his presence.
<What's he doing here? He was supposed to be off hours ago…>
Turning his attention back to Demyx he nodded smiling.
"Of course I'll get that information for you as soon as I can. Meanwhile would you like me to get ZEXION out of your room?"
He emphasized the dark haired paramedic's name making him jump awake all of a sudden.
"Huh…?"
Wiping his eyes he found himself staring into the faces of an extremely unimpressed looking Marluxia and a rather flushed and confused Demyx.
Seeing the blonde awake and staring at him his cheeks flushed slightly pink and he stood up.
"Uhm… Uh… Sorry… I was just gonna take a quick nap and I guess time got the better of me…"
The pink haired male looked Zexion up and down and turned back to face Demyx.
"I'll get that information as soon as I can for you sweetie, by the way if you need anything else my name is Marluxia."
Winking at the blonde making him flush a dark red the pink haired nurse exited the room leaving Zexion and Demyx alone again.
The dark haired male swallowed hard searching for anything to say but the blonde broke the awkward silence with an even more awkward question.
"So… Why did you stay here?"
Zexion was entirely caught off guard.
"I just wanted to make sure you were okay…"
Demyx looked at him oddly.
"So… Is this something you do with all of your patients?"
The blonde motioned at the flowers.
"And one more question… Are… These from you?"
Zexion looked lamely at the flowers and a realisation sparked in his mind.
<Marluxia… You little cunt?!>
"No… They are not from me… They are from the pink haired nurse that winked at you before he left. Flowers are his thing…"
"Oh…"
Demyx nodded staring at his feet which were under the covers.
"So what about the other question I asked…?"
Zexion looked up to see beautiful blue eyes staring him down keeping him on the spot like a deer in headlights.
<How could I have ever thought this would be a good idea?>
The nurse looking after Roxas walked up and down the corridor that his room was on several times…
He already had his water…
She had sent another nurse in with it…
That nurse was currently serving him breakfast because she was still trying to figure out a way to keep her calm while she told him the news…
"Here you go Roxas, breakfast complete with bacon, eggs, sausages, toast, hash browns and tea! Wow they're giving you the good stuff huh?"
The young woman smiled kindly at him as she served him breakfast and undid the restraints on his arms…
"I hope you don't mind, but I have to stay here while you eat because…"
Roxas nodded.
"I know, because of the knife right?"
The young woman nodded embarrassed.
"Sorry about this…"
The blonde teen shrugged frowning.
"It's alright… I know you're just doing your job… Anyways… I'd like the company…"
The young woman smiled at him.
"Well company I can be! So tell me about yourself…? Handsome guy like you must get all the girls at your school huh?"
Roxas took a mouthful of egg and swallowed without chewing…
He was starving…
His appetite had suddenly come back with a vengeance…
Attempting suicide was hungry work it seemed.
"I doubt it… I haven't noticed any of them looking…"
The young brunette girl laughed.
"Oh come now! You're kidding me! Surely you have girls falling all over you! Or do you have a special someone…?"
The blonde chewed his way through another mouthful of food.
"Actually… The reason I know girls don't look at me is because the only ones I associate with are all in school and the majority of them from my school know I'm gay."
The young nurses mouth went into a neat 'o' shape and she flushed so red that Roxas stopped eating and stared at her…
She took a deep breath and suddenly started gushing at her own supposed ignorance.
"Oh my God… I must seem so ignorant to you! I'm so sorry! I-just-assumed-that-you-know-you're-a-young-attractive-guy-and… Oh-I-don't-even-know-what-I-was-thinking! Oh my God! They were right… I guess I do still have a lot to learn in bedside manner…"
The young girl sat at the side of Roxas' bed and began crying her eyes out, much to the blondes surprise.
Stretching a hand out he patted her on the shoulder gently.
"Hey now… Hey… Hey!"
The girls head snapped up at Roxas' raised voice.
"It's an easy mistake to make… I couldn't count on both hands the amount of straight guys I've hit on… I mean you can't tell by just looking at someone."
The nurse nodded wiping her eyes.
"I guess… I guess you can't…"
"So cheer up…"
The blonde forced a smile to his face despite what he was feeling inside.
"In fact… I'm complimented that you think I'd be such a fine catch for a woman."
The brunette nurse looked up at him.
"Really?"
"Absolutely."
Wiping the rest of the tears from her eyes the young nurse straightened up and regained her smile once more.
"I'm sorry about that all the same…"
Roxas shook his head taking another mouthful of bacon and toast.
"Don't sweat it… Happens to me all the time."
The young nurse was silent for a moment then smiled again with a cheeky glint in her eye.
"So what kind of guys are you into?"
The blonde looked at her and for the first time since before Sora left, smiled a genuine smile at how much this nurse's bubbly, bounce back and easy going attitude reminded him of his twin.
Sora was still sitting on the sofa as Axel called his parents and some students from their old school once it got a little later.
"Okay… Yeah will do… Thanks."
Axel hung up the phone with a beep.
The brunette looked up at Axel with teary eyes from the sofa.
"Well…? Did you find out anything?"
Axel shook his head.
"Riku said Roxas wasn't in school today, but my parents haven't heard anything… They said they'd keep us posted if anything comes up…"
The brunette was shaking his head.
"Axel… Something's up I know it… I just… Something feels wrong."
Tears started running down his face again.
"I can't just sit here Axel… I need to go back…"
The redhead nodded sighing.
"Okay then… Well if that's what you wanna do… Go grab some stuff and we'll drive there."
Sora looked up at Axel his eyes still brimming with tears.
"Really?"
Axel nodded wondering why Sora seemed so surprised.
"I don't mind if it'll put your mind at ease… It's only about an hour and a half if we take the freeway and we can crash at my parent's place…"
Sora looked into Axel's acid green eyes.
"Are they not still weird about us being together…?"
Axel shook his head and smiled.
"They were never weird about us being together… Just a little bit surprised that I never mentioned anything about being gay before, and they assured me they would be more than happy to put us up."
The brunette nodded standing up from the sofa wiping away tears from his eyes and wrapped his arms around Axel hugging him tightly.
"Thanks Axel… I don't know where I'd be without you."
Demyx stared at the dark haired paramedic.
"Well…?"
Zexion's mouth was very dry all of a sudden.
"Uhm…"
His cheeks flushed a light pink colour and he swallowed hard.
The blonde kept his eyes on him his gaze soft in wonder.
<Why would he do this for me otherwise…?>
His voice came out in a nervous squeak.
"… no…"
The blonde cocked his head slightly.
"I'm sorry…?"
Zexion gulped, lifted his eyes up to meet Demyx's and spoke calmly and clearly.
"No… This isn't something I do for all of my patients…"
Surprise ran through Demyx's body as the small framed paramedic stared at him from the end of his bed.
He knew his face was red betraying whatever excuse he had planned to make up…
"So… Why…? Then… Why do it for me?"
The dark haired paramedic smiled sadly.
"Cause I'm an idiot… And…"
Zexion thought for a moment and selected his words carefully.
"I didn't want you to be alone when I gave you the news you wanted…"
Demyx's eyebrows furrowed.
"What news?"
Zexion approached the side of Demyx's bed.
"The people in the other car…"
The blondes lips parted and his eyes welled up with tears…
Zexion didn't need to say anything…
He already knew by the tone of his voice…
"They… Both died… I'm… Really sorry."
Demyx's hands reached up for his face and his eyes opened wide.
<I… I Killed them…>
He stared numbly over at the car afraid to look in…
He was sure they were dead.
<How could anyone hope to survive a crash like that?>

Demyx blinked his eyes open to the bright sunrise…
He shut them again…
Seeing the light imprinted on the back of his eyelids…
<I must have passed out…>
Holding up his hand to block out the light he surveyed the room he was in…
White, white, white…
<Marluxia… You little cunt?!>
<I… I Killed them…>
